Vodafone’s New Head Office

designed by José António Barbosa and Pedro Guimarães of Barbosa Guimarães Arquitectos.

If you live in the United States you’re probably not that familiar with Vodafone.  Vodafone is a multinational British cellphone company based in the U.K. and based one revenue, is the largest provider of cellphones in the world.  They also own 45% of Verizon Wireless.  So basically Vodafone gets money, and with that money they can build all types of unnecessary shit, like their new office building in Portugal.

iPhone App Of The Week: Photoshop Mobile

Back in early October Adobe came out with the photoshop mobile iPhone app to go along with their photoshop.com service.  If you’re not familiar with photoshop.com, it’s basically an online source for photo sharing, editing, and hosting.  When you create an account you get 2GB of free space to store your pictures.  Best of all it’s completely free.  The photoshop iPhone app let’s you edit, share, and upload photos on your device.  It also let’s you access your entire photo library on your photoshop.com account.  The best part about this app is that it allows you to edit the photos you take on your phone.  It gives you a wide variety of one touch effects and it lets you drag your finger across the screen to quickly crop, rotate, and even adjust color.

Out of all of the photo apps I’ve tested on my phone, this one is probably my favorite.  It’s functions are pretty basic and can be found on all other programs available in the app store, but the thing that separates this one from all others is the ability to view and edit the photos on your photoshop account.  The thing I like most about using this is the ability to upload the photos from your phone to the photoshop.com service.   Check out the video review here:

Like I said earlier this app is completely FREE.  If you like to take pictures on you iPhone there isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t have it.

iPhone App Of The Week: NIKEiD

First off let me say that this app DOES NOT allow you to design shoes on your iphone.  That had to have been the first thing I thought of when I saw this on iTunes.  How cool would it be to design a shoe AND THEN order it on your phone?  So when I found out that it doesn’t do this I was like wtf?  I couldn’t figure out why Nike would make an app like this without the ability to design your own ish.

There is good news though: this app is RAW.  Aside from my initial gripe it does allow you to look through thousands of designs that other people have made.

The app also has another sick feature called photo id.  Basically, is you’re out somewhere and somebody is sporting some kicks you like, you can snap a picture of them with our iPhone.  The photo id feature then searches through it’s database for shoes of the same colors and then displays the results.  It’s a great feature if you’re a swagger jacker.

The GQ iPhone App

Since I first got my iPhone at the end of January, I’d have to say that one of my favorite pastimes is going through the App Store on iTunes.  Earlier today I came across GQ’s new app.  It presents their Man of the Year issue for December (why I’m not in this is another story).  It also comes with cool features like streaming trailers from movies, the ability to download music from iTunes, and bonus pictures Leighton Meester in her drawers, yessir.

As far as I know, this is the very first iPhone app for a magazine, pretty dope right?  Personally I’m pretty excited about reading GQ on my device and it’ll be a lot more convenient that having magazines laying all over the place.

The app is supposed to function as a regular run-of-the-mill program with GQ’s content on it, but if you hold you phone horizontally you can swipe through the actual print version of the magazine, see below:

It only costs $2.99 but there is one problem though.  I went through some of the reviews people wrote and it seems as if you might want to either be connected to 3G or a fast Wi-Fi network, otherwise this application will load up whenever it’s good and ready.

The Rumored iTablet

itabletitablet2

Looks dope to me.  I’d get it just for bragging rights.  People are speculating that this MAY drop in September.  It comes with at 10 inch screen, internet connectivity, it can be used as a book reader, and it runs iPhone apps.

Remember though all of this is just guesswork AND Apple is EXTREMELY secretive so there’s no telling what’s really going on with this device.  All I know is I want one.
