According to ESPN, there is a pretty good chance that Chris Bosh could get traded before the deadline. This makes sense because everybody knows that his ass is leaving Toronto as a free agent after this season, so the Raptors might as well trade him and get value back instead of losing him outright.
The Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers are supposed to be goin’ in hard for CB4. The Rockets would reportedly have to give up a mix of Aaron Brooks, Trevor Ariza, Carl Landry, & Luis Scola. If you’ve seen the Rockets play this year, you already know that all four of these gentlemen have been GETTING MONEY, so picking maybe two to send to the Raptors would be hard on the Rocket’s GM.
The Lakers reportedly are willing to give up Andrew Bynum to get Bosh. Because the salaries wouldn’t match, the deal couldn’t be done straight up, other players would have to be involved.
As a diehard Lakers fan I like Bynum’s game, I just don’t like it with Gasol. It’s become obvious to me that Bynum is the type of player that needs the ball in his hands to be effective. With Gasol on the court, his touches are limited which affects his overall play. This season when Gasol missed the first 11 games, Bynum put up 20.3 ppg and 9.6 rebounds per game. When Pau got back Andrew’s numbers dipped to 15 and 7.8. He’d get plenty of touches in Toronto, so this would be an even trade.
CB4 on the other hand can still be very effective with limited touches and if you ask me he’s just what the Lakers need, a big man that always plays with energy & hustle. Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, & Derek Fisher always give you 100%, but a PF or C that plays with a high level energy can have a much greater impact on a game than a guard, in my opinion. Both Bosh & Gasol can play outside of the paint, which makes the lane less congested for KB24 and Ron Artest to drive and makes the Lakers as a team more difficult to defend.
Bosh is a perfect fit for LA but there is one thing that would concern me: Bosh, Gasol, and Odom put together weight about 100 pounds (LMAO), so they would still need to add a bruiser. Unless of course Phil Jackson would like to give my boy Congo Cash (DJ Mbenga) some more tick.
CB4 08-09 Highlights:
As of yesterday, the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao superfight is off. After mediation the two sides still couldn’t agree on a drug testing policy, and as I could’ve told you, it hasn’t taken long for the two sides to start goin’ in hard on each other. Bob Arum (who Floyd doesn’t like in the first place) was the first to put in his two cents saying that Floyd never wanted to fight in the first place. Considering how much money is on the table, that’s not believable because Floyd is all about getting $$$. It didn’t take lone for him to respond though, earlier today he put out this statement:
“Throughout this whole process I have remained patient, but at this point I am thoroughly disgusted that Pacquiao and his representatives are trying to blame me for the fight not happening when clearly the blame is on them.
“First and foremost, not only do I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, I WANT TO WHIP HIS PUNK ASS.
“Before the mediation, my team proposed a 14-day, no blood testing window leading up to the fight. But it was rejected. I am still proposing the 14-day window but he is still unwilling to agree to it, even though this is obviously a fair compromise on my part as I wanted the testing to be up until the fight and he wanted a 30-day cut-off. The truth is he just doesn’t want to take the tests.
“In my opinion it is Manny Pacquiao and his team who are denying the people a chance to see the biggest fight ever. I know the people will see through their smokescreens and lies. I am ready to fight and sign the contract. Manny needs to stop making his excuses, step up and fight.”
On March 13th Manny is scheduled to fight some dude who was on his last PPV’s under card. Big whoop. I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again: there is TOO much money on the line for this fight not to happen. In my opinion this is just a slight setback.
